Incident Description:
On November 28, 2018, the CBC reported an explosion at a flour mill in Calgary, Alberta.
The incident, which occurred on the 10th floor of the building, caused windows to shatter. According to the fire department battalion chief, the fire broke out in a few areas after the explosion, causing minor damage to the floor, but there was no major structural damage. The sprinkler system was activated by the explosion, which helped keep the flames from spreading.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene at 6:45 p.m. As of 8:10 p.m., the incident was under control.
None of the 17 workers in the building at the time were injured.
