Incident Description:
On October 3, 2023, Powder & Bulk Solids reported a fire at a grain milling company in Winona, Minnesota.
At around 8:00 p.m., the Winona Fire Department responded to an active fire alarm at the facility. The incident initially raised concerns of a dust explosion, but upon arrival, firefighters discovered a smouldering fire in a dust collector storage bin. While controlling the fire required the use of long hoses positioned near the top of the building, it was successfully contained within the initial storage bin. First responders remained at the scene for several hours, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
