On August 1, 2023, Sarnia News Today reported a fire at an industrial facility in Sarnia, Ontario.
Sarnia Fire Rescue responded to the flames at approximately 9:15 a.m. The Chief Fire Prevention Officer stated that the fire was discovered within an aggregate dust collection system.
In a media release, he explained that some internal seals were burning, whereas the dust was confined to filter bags. He commended the quick response of the firefighters, noting that their “Swift action kept the damage limited to this one structure.”
He also confirmed that there were no injuries as a result of the fire, and mentioned that an estimate for the damage had not yet been determined.
