On September 27, 2019, ABC 13 News reported a structure fire at a custom furniture manufacturer in Salem, Virginia.
When firefighters at approximately 10:47 a.m., they found smoke throughout the building and discovered other fires in the dust collection system. Fire department officials stated that they worked for more than six hours removing and extinguishing all the fire in the system.
All employees were safely evacuated. One firefighter received a minor injury during clean-up after the fire was extinguished. The fire was contained to the collection system, so there was no other damage to the building.
