Incident Description:
On April 15, 2022, the Ink-Free News reported a dust collector fire at an orthopaedic manufacturing company in Pierceton, Indiana.
The fire was reported about 5:30 p.m. and located in the easternmost building on the property. When firefighters arrived on scene, they found a fully involved dust collector on the east end of the building.
The fire did not spread indoors, but some smoke entered the building. The Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and Silver Lake Fire Department used special Titus ventilation fans to ventilate the building.
No injuries were reported.
OSHA Inspections:
An establishment search turned up one OSHA inspection dated September 30, 2019, but it was not flagged for combustible dust.
