On September 1, 2022, NBN News reported a grain terminal fire at an agribusiness in Carrington, Australia.
Firefighters were called to the site just after 5:00 p.m. and spent almost 24 hours fighting the dust collector fire. About 18 crews were at the terminal, working in shifts, as well as teams from the hazardous materials unit and other scientific officers.
Due to the risk of potential explosions, a 600-metre exclusion zone was set around the fire and 30 residents evacuated from the area. They were later permitted to return.
No injuries were reported.
