Incident Description:
On November 16, 2018, the Daily Journal reported a grain dryer fire at a grain cooperative in Elbow Lake, Minnesota.
The Fergus Falls Fire Department arrived shortly after 6:30 a.m. and assisted the employees and Elbow Lake Fire Department in emptying corn out of the dryer so that the fire couldn’t spread.
It took the firefighters nearly an hour to get the fire under control. The co-op manager stated that a hot spot in the dryer had ignited but there was very little damage to the unit itself.
