Incident Description:
On September 13, 2018, the Harford Sentinel reported a fire at an animal feed processing facility in Hanford, California. Fire officials stated that the fire was located in a cooler in the warehouse on the south side of the facility.
When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke issuing from the roof and a warehouse door. After getting the fire under control, they remained on the scene for four hours to overhaul and monitor smouldering silage in the bottom of the cooler unit
One firefighter was injured as a result of a fall during the incident, but no others were injured. Officials estimated damage to the cooler unit and the warehouse contents at about $200,000.
