On August 3, 2023, Radio Gong reported a fire at a wood pellet production facility in Würzburg, Germany.
While swift action from the fire brigade resulted in the prompt containment of the fire, the smoldering remnants had disseminated within the conveyor arrangement. Notably, numerous embers, each resembling the size of a football, were discovered within the confines of the production hall. To preclude any further propagation, the decision was made to evacuate the production line.
