Incident Description:
On November 8, 2019, 7NEWS Mackay reported a fire at a sugar mill in Marian, Australia.
Firefighters reached the scene at 11:25 a.m. and had the fire extinguished by 11:43 a.m. Four crews remained on the scene for awhile afterward, dampening down hot spots.
Video coverage of the incident suggested that the fire had been ignited on a sugar-covered conveyor belt by the day’s high temperatures.
No injuries were reported.
