On July 16, 2023, G1 Globo reported a fire at a ferroalloy producer in Conselheiro Lafaiete, Brazil.
The fire department responded when it received the alarm on July 15. Authorities were informed by officials that the fire originated on the conveyor belt of one of the furnaces utilized for ferroalloy production. The flames devoured a significant portion of the equipment, as well as the ore and coal that were being transported at the moment of the incident.
Using roughly 1,000 litres of water, firefighters managed to quench the fire.
No injuries were reported.
