Incident Description:
On July 20, 2023, Portal da Cidade reported a fire at a coffee production business in Guaxupé, Brazil.
The fire ignited in a coffee dryer at around 12:30 p.m. The local fire department was summoned to put it out. Upon arrival at the location, the team discovered a section of the shed on fire. The flames spread to the coffee dryer, affecting parts of the ceiling, various engines, other machinery, and numerous bags of coffee stored in the dryer.
After battling the fire for over an hour, it was successfully contained. According to farm officials, the fire originated from a short circuit within the dryer.
No injuries were reported.
