On December 21, 2018, KSHB 41 reported a fire at a power station in Kansas City, Kansas.
Emergency crews were able to access the system upon arrival and had the incident under control just before 10:30 a.m.
According to a fire department spokesman, the fire began in the conveyor belt. He said that the firefighters used an “exposure cooling” technique from an aerial ladder to fight the flames. The power station has a water system but it is not believed to have activated correctly.
