Incident Description:
On January 11, 2023, La Depeche reported an explosion and fire at a chemical plant in LaSalle, Illinois.
The explosion occurred at around 9:00 a.m. and was followed by a huge fire. Firefighters advised residents living north and west of the facility to stay home as a precaution after the explosion released a green oxidant.
After firefighters got the fire under control, the State Fire Marshal was called in to investigate.
No injuries were reported.
