Incident Description:
On July 31, 2021, the Cullman Tribune reported a fire at an animal feed production plant in Hanceville, Alabama.
At least a half dozen fire departments responded after the fire was reported at 12:35 p.m. It was still involved over two hours after the call came in, creating a column of thick smoke that was visible miles from the fire’s rural location.
The mayor, who was at the scene with the Hanceville Fire Department, said that the fire appeared to have been started by grease and animal byproducts. The Cullman Emergency Management Agency reported that the fire did not appear to involve any hazardous materials.
No injuries were reported.
