Incident Description:
On July 14, 2021, WHAM 13 reported a fire at an animal feed producer in Caledonia, New York.
Fire crews were called to the plant at around 8:15 a.m. The Caledonia and Mumford Fire Departments, as well as the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, responded.
A small fire was found in a wall in the plant. Plant operations are back on track, and the cause remains under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
Previous Incidents
On September 28, 2015, the Democrat & Chronicle reported that a fire occurred at the plant on November 1, 2014. The cause was spontaneous combustion of grain stored at the facility. Workers were relocated to another facility until the plant reopened in 2017.
