Incident Description:
On May 13, 2022, KCRA3 reported a fire at an almond processing plant in Sacramento, California.
The fire was reported just after 2:00 a.m. It was burning inside a machine that collects dust from silos where almonds are stored.
There was a small fire burning inside some of the ductwork attached to the dust collector. Even though the fire was small, it was high up on the silo and deep inside the pipe, making it difficult for crews to reach and water it.
The fire was contained to the dust collector and did not spread to any other parts of the plant.
No injuries were reported.
