Incident Description:
On September 24, 2020, Powder & Bulk Solids reported a fire at a veneer manufacturing plant in Edinburgh, Indiana.
Firefighters arrived shortly after 5:00 a.m. and found the fire in a dust collector in the facility’s shipping department. They were able to bring the flames in the machine under control within 20 minutes.
The Edinburgh Fire and Rescue Deputy Chief of Operations said damages were limited to the machine and some insulation above it. Personnel remained at the scene for an hour after the fire was extinguished.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
