Incident Description:
On April 1, 2018, NewsBeezer reported a dust explosion at a pet food manufacturer in Treviglio, Italy.
Residents near the facility reported a burning odor. Three technicians went to investigate, believing that flour was burning in one of the dryers. Two of them climbed onto a metal pedestal near the dryer while a third headed toward the factory. Suddenly the tank exploded, killing the two men on the pedestal.
It took firefighters more than two hours to secure the plant with carbon dioxide. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
