On February 21, 2020, the Courier-Tribune reported a fire at a furniture manufacturer in Ramseur, North Carolina.
Firefighters responded after a call came in from a passerby reporting the fire shortly after 5:00 a.m.
The Randolph County Fire Marshal stated that the fire started near a trailer adjacent to the building containing wood dust and chips. Officials suspect that it was caused by a spark created during the wood chipping process.
Although fire walls contained the damage to one-third of the building, the total losses were estimated at over $2 million.
No injuries were reported.
