Incident Description:
On November 6, 2019, the Rensselaer Republican reported a grain dryer fire at a grain elevator in Rensselaer, Indiana.
Local firefighters arrived shortly after 6:15 a.m. One firefighter later stated that the dryer was already fully engulfed and looked like “a big blow torch.”
They spent over three hours working to extinguish the fire. By 9:30 a.m., they were ready to leave, but the staff at the facility continued to use thermal imaging to check the elevator tanks for signs of a fire.
No injuries were reported.
