On October 31, 2019, echo24.de reported a silo fire at a woodworking shop in the Wiesental section of Neuenstein-Untereppach, Germany.
Two volunteer fire brigades with a total of 80 people responded to the fire. They arrived quickly enough to prevent the flames from spreading, but damage to the silo is estimated at 80,000 euros.
The cause is believed to be a technical defect that ignited the sawdust stored in the silo. No injuries were reported.
