Description of Paper Dust Fire:
On May 19, 2018 the Green Bay Press Gazette in Wisconsin reported a fire in the Procter & Gamble paper mill. Investigators determined that the fire started in a paper machine at the facility. Powder & Bulk Solids reported that the fire started in the production area of the facility and took approximately 75 minutes to extinguish. No injuries were reported in the fire although heavy smoke was reported.
In 2014 WNCY reported a fire at the same facility. In that incident a fire started in paper machine #11 and spread to the surrounding ductwork and walls. Firefighters struggled to put out the blaze due to the tight spaces and bends in the ductwork taking three hours to extinguish the blaze. No one was reported injured in this previous paper fire.
