Incident Description:
On June 27, 2019, Central Illinois Proud reported a fire at a grain elevator in Pekin, Illinois.
Firefighters from the Pekin Fire Department arrived shortly after the got the call at around 6:00 a.m. Crews later reported seeing small explosions coming from the top of a grain terminal at the site. They said that inside, an elevator belt burned through and released its own fire.
The street outside had to be closed off to gain water access.
No injuries were reported.
