Incident Description:
On November 14, 2018, Fox6 Now reported a silo fire near Highway KR and 100th Avenue in Sturtevant, Wisconsin.
A passer-by saw the fire and called 911 at around 3:30 a.m. According to fire officials, arriving firefighters found flames issuing from the top of the silo. The area did not have a water supply, so water tenders and other resources were called to the scene.
The fire was deep in the silo’s corn dryer and difficult to access, but it was finally brought under control and all agencies left by about 7:30 a.m.
South Shore Fire Department representatives said that the fire started in a corn dryer. There were no injuries, and on November 19, the Racine County Eye reported that the fire was accidental.
