On October 28, 2023, a fire broke out on a conveyor belt at the Cavalca Administração de Portos (CAP) terminal near the Port of Paranaguá. The Paraná Fire Department, including the 8th Fire Brigade (8th GB), responded swiftly. Teams from Paranaguá and other barracks along the Paraná coast collaborated in the 12-hour operation to control the fire, which was contained by the morning of October 29.
The fire’s complexity was heightened due to its location in a port area and on moving conveyor belts. One firefighter was injured during the operation but soon recovered.
