Incident Description:
On September 18, 2023, the News Times reported a fire at a paper mill in Toledo, Ohio.
Firefighters rushed to the mill to put out a fire that ignited in a structure housing a wood chip dryer unit. It began around 7:30 a.m., with the mill’s fire prevention mechanisms operating as intended. The situation posed no threat from hazardous materials and the public was not at risk.
At certain times, flames were visible amidst the smoke and steam when viewed from the mill’s southern side.
No injuries were reported.
