On August 24, 2023, YourErie reported a fire at a lumber processing company in Waterford, Pennsylvania.
Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly before 5:00 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a sawdust hopper on fire. According to first responders, most of the hopper had fallen and the flames were spreading to an adjacent larger building.
After suppressing the primary fire, the crews worked diligently to sift through the sawdust, as lingering embers continued to smoulder deep within the compacted pile.
No injuries were reported.
