On August 30, 2023, the Press & Journal reported a fire at a malt production company in Buckie, UK.
Fire crews were notified at around 1:15 p.m. Five units rushed to the location, where they suspected a grain dryer had ignited. Smoke was visible emerging from the on-site structures while teams worked diligently to contain the fire.
Firefighting personnel stayed on the premises until 11:00 p.m., focusing on cooling down areas that were still hot. Although the response was reduced as the night progressed, teams kept an eye on the location for nine hours post the fire’s onset. The police provided additional support, establishing a perimeter around the entire site.
No injuries were reported.
