Incident Description:
On July 17, 2023, Canal Rural reported a fire at a hay storage facility in Luís Eduardo Magalhães, Brazil.
At around 3:30 p.m. on July 14, teams from the 2nd Cia of Luís Eduardo Magalhães were summoned to combat the flames. Given the intensity of the fire, support was sought from the 1st Cia located in Barreiras, a neighboring town, which was deployed to assist the personnel initially engaged in fighting the fire.
Beyond the military firefighters and their specialized vehicles, the response effort included water trucks from the Luís Eduardo Magalhães city hall, assistance from neighbouring companies, and brigade members, all coordinated under the supervision of the corporation. The fire was finally brought under control at around 8:00 p.m., with the cooling-down work concluding by the next day at noon.
In an official statement, the company stated that the fire was confined solely to the hay, leaving the structure intact, and neither people nor animals were harmed.
