Incident Description:
On June 25, 2023, KMTR reported a fire at a wood products company in Lyons, Oregon.
The Lyons Rural Fire District was dispatched to a silo fire at around 10 p.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, the crews were met with an engulfed silo, prompting the escalation to a second alarm.
Thanks to the swift response and collaboration between volunteers from Lyons, Aumsville, Scio, Gates, Stayton, Stayton’s Station 82 (Mehama), Sublimity, and Salem, the fire was successfully brought under control. The scene was eventually cleared and handed over for further monitoring.
No injuries were reported.
