Incident Description:
On May 7, 2023, Radio Canada reported a fire at a wood shaving manufacturer in Berthier-sur-Mer, Quebec.
Although the immense flames were visible from Île d’Orléans, the fire was brought under control around 4:00 a.m. after more than five hours of firefighting efforts. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the 20 employees, some of whom will be able to work remotely while others will gradually return to their positions as specific plant sectors are reconnected to Hydro-Québec.
