Incident Description:
On March 25, 2023, the Echo Press reported an explosion and fire at a grain elevator in Hoffman, Minnesota.
According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, several 911 calls were received at about 7:50 p.m., reporting an explosion and fire at the elevator. Fire departments from Hoffman, Barrett, Elbow Lake, Herman, Alexandria, Morris, Donnelly, Chokio, Cyrus and Kensington immediately responded.
The Grant and Douglas County deputies secured the area, and the Minnesota Duty Officer and State Fire Marshall were notified. The cause of the explosion and fire is currently unknown, and the incident is still being investigated by the Sheriff’s Office.
No injuries were reported.
