On February 21, 2023, Gifu Shimbun reported a dust collector fire at a sawmill in Nakatsugawa City, Japan.
The fire broke out at around 11:00 a.m. According to the Nakatsugawa police station, the factory was engaged in wood processing and other operations, and seven employees were working at the time of the fire. The burning box was located above the dust collector, and was designed to absorb and accumulate wood chips.
Police are investigating the exact cause of the fire. No injuries were reported.
