Incident Description:
On January 7, 2023, FranceInfo reported an explosion at a sugar refinery in Bazancourt, France.
The explosion occurred at around 9:00 a.m. Many firefighters went to the scene, as well as the police. Rail services teams were also dispatched because the explosion hit a storage silo located about thirty metres from the railway tracks.
Train traffic was halted while the scene was inspected. The railroad authorities were able to determine that the tracks were not damaged but as a precaution, the police wanted to keep traffic away because they believed that the industrial site was not yet sufficiently secure.
No injuries were reported.
