Incident Description:
On August 21, 2018, Powder & Bulk Solids reported a dust explosion and fire at a grain elevator in Rake, Iowa. According to local news resource Star106, two workers were injured. Their injuries were not life-threatening, although one man had to be airlifted to a hospital for treatment. The elevator sustained structural damages, forcing the site to halt grain deliveries.
The state fire marshal’s office is expected to investigate the incident.
