On November 7, 2022, Yahoo Japan reported a coal dust fire at a chemical plant in Ohtake City, Japan.
A fire broke out at the production facility around 11:45 a.m. The city fire department and other agencies worked together to fight the fire. According to the factory and the fire department, the fire broke out in equipment that transports fuel such as coal to the boiler. It was caused by sparks from welding work on boiler equipment, according to factory officials.
