Incident Description:
On November 10, 2022, The Record reported a fire inside a dryer at a biodegradable products plant in Port Colborne, Ontario.
Firefighters responded to the call at 3:21 p.m. They had to go up to the second and third floors, as it was a larger dryer with a piping system. Teams found open flames in a few places and addressed them. They left the scene nearly two hours later.
There had been a clog in the pipe, and a welder cut an inspection plate to look inside. It’s believed the welding ignited material inside the pipe.
No injuries were reported.
