On October 13, 2022, Montemaizmira reported an explosion at an agricultural cooperative in Monte Buey, Argentina.
The explosion was felt throughout the town. It occurred when two contractors were working on a grain dryer. Both workers were injured while the dryer and six water wheels at the plant were damaged. The silos were unaffected.
Firefighters, police, a crane from Cooperativa Eléctrica, Sitrem, and a sprinkler truck from the Municipality responded immediately. Police proceeded to evacuate a technical institute located on the adjoining property. A nearby sports venue was also evacuated.
Firefighters finally got the situation under control. The injured workers were treated at a nearby hospital.
