Incident Description:
On July 7, 2022, Powder & Bulk Solids reported a bin explosion at an agricultural cooperative in Hardy, Iowa.
The explosion occurred around 3:30 p.m. after eight yards of sulphur caught on fire as the material was moving through a pit to an elevated mixing bin. The resulting fire was contained to the area between the blending and the holding bins.
No one was injured but the structure did sustain some damage.
