Company Description:
According to its website, Three Rivers Energy is an ethanol producer located in Coshocton, Ohio It is part of the larger Lakeview group of companies. It produces 55mgy of ethanol and 165000 tons of dried distillers’ grains soluble. All fuel grade ethanol is sold locally through refineries and retail outlets in Ohio and neighboring states. Distillers’ grain is sold to local feed markets as a fiber and protein source.
Incident Description:
On May 20, 2022, 10 WBNS reported an explosion at an ethanol production plant in Coshocton, Ohio.
According to the Coshocton County Fire Department, the explosion occurred just after 10:30 p.m. It happened near the grain dryer at the plant, which produces ethanol. The dryer suffered significant damage, but no injuries were reported.
Several people claimed they could feel the explosion from several miles away.
All fire departments were released from the scene just after midnight.
