Incident Description:
On February 10, 2022, OCP News reported a dust collector fire at a coal processing plant in Criciúma, Brazil.
Firefighters reported that a line of attack was immediately set up with three flights of hose, and the fighting was carried out above the equipment, where smoke and flames were visible.
Fire began in the lower part of the equipment, so the crew descended and applied water from below, which cooled the filter. Another line consisted of four rows of hoses, allowing one line on each side to cool the filter. 4,500 litres of water were used.
There were no injuries or apparent property damage.
