Incident Description:
On February 17, 2022, Ozarks First reported a coal dust explosion at a utilities provider in Springfield, Missouri.
The CEO and General Manager said coal dust ignited outside a boiler, causing an explosion that injured an employee and caused damage to the building. The employee, who was hurt by falling debris, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The incident continues to be under investigation.

In the Ozarks First article, it was stated that a similar event had occurred in Unit No. 2 at the plant in December 2016.
