Incident Description:
On February 10, 2022, the West Central Tribune reported a dust collector fire at a carbon steel parts manufacturer in Willmar, Minnesota.
According to reports, smoke was coming from a vent on the south side of the west building. Willmar Fire Department units arrived at the scene at approximately 11:42 a.m. and started removing the dust collector filters, which were on fire.
It was later discovered that an employee had observed smoke coming from the building vent. After returning to the building, he activated the fire extinguishing system on the dust collector.
Firefighters remained at the scene until about 1:00 p.m.
No injuries were reported. The dust collector filters were the only items damaged at the scene. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
