Incident Description:
On January 13, 2022, KALB reported a fire at an animal feed facility in Lecompte, Louisiana.
The Lecompte Fire Department said that around 4:30 a.m., they received a call about a fire at the plant. As firefighters battled the flames in the building, there was an explosion. Fortunately, no one was injured. After the explosion, the fire continued to burn, and crews spent over 12 hours getting it under control.
The cause of the fire and the explosion is under investigation.
