Incident Description:
On December 17, 2021, the Sun Journal reported a fire at a sawmill in Dixfield, Maine.
Crews from multiple agencies battled the four-alarm fire. Approximately 45 firefighters from Dixfield, East Dixfield, Mexico, Rumford, Peru, Andover, Wilton, and Jay responded to the scene.
The Dixfield Fire Chief said that the fire was in the rear of a production building and contained shortly after 6:00 p.m. Afterwards, firefighters did an overhaul in the building, searching for hot spots.
All employees were evacuated. No injuries were reported.
