Incident Description:
On September 26, 2021, KJAS reported a fire at a sawmill in Bon Wier, Texas.
The fire ignited shortly after midnight. The volunteers of the Bon Wier and Newton fire departments arrived first at the scene. They soon called for assistance from Trout Creek, Burkeville, and Jasper. All five departments worked in conjunction to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown. However, the manager said there were indications that the fire might have started in the motor control equipment located adjacent to the main saw floor, which was destroyed.
No injuries were reported.
