Incident Description:
On September 3, 2021, KTVO reported a coal silo fire at a utility company in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Firefighters responded to the incident around 1:00 p.m. and had the flames contained within an hour. A company spokesperson said the fire started in a coal silo at the plant.
Neither injuries nor significant damage were reported. Although fire crews are not certain what started the fire, the cause remains under investigation.
