On September 2, 2021, NDT reported an explosion and fire at a fibre production factory in Xaxim, Brazil.
Firefighters responded to the call shortly after 3:50 p.m. and found that thick clouds of black smoke could be seen from a distance. Eight fire department trucks and 30 firefighters worked to fight the flames. Water trucks from private companies in the region’s city halls also assisted at the site.
At 8:40 p.m., firefighters reported that the flames had significantly decreased, so they concentrated more on two points with the highest burns. More than 200,000 litres of water were used.
