Incident Description:
On August 3, 2021, Zeit Online reported a deflagration in a grain silo in Eichstegen, Germany.
According to preliminary findings, smoke was initially generated in the ventilation and conveyor systems as a result of a technical defect. The silo itself then caught fire. Gases formed by the fire eventually burst the cover.
The fire brigade extinguished the fire quickly. Damages came to around 150,000 euros.
According to police, no injuries were reported.
